Padre Pio and The Blessed Virgin Mary: what a deep devotion! Everyday, Saint Padre Pio prayed The Blessed Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Graces.

Prayer of Padre Pio to Our Lady of Graces

O heavenly treasurer of all graces, Mother of God and my mother Mary, since you are the first-born daughter of the Eternal Father and hold in your hands His omnipotence, be moved to pity my soul and grant me the graces which I fervently ask of you.

Hail Mary

O merciful dispenser of divine graces, Mary most holy, mother of the Eternal incarnate Word who has crowned you with His immense wisdom, look upon the greatness of my sorrow and grant me the graces I need so much.

Hail Mary

O most loving dispenser of divine graces, immaculate Spouse of the Eternal Holy Spirit, most holy Mary, who have received from Him a heart which is moved to pity by human misfortunes and which is constrained to offer consolation to those who suffer, be moved to pity my soul and grant me whose graces which I await from you with full confidence in your immense goodness.

Hail Mary

O my mother, treasurer of all graces, refuge of poor sinners, consolation of the afflicted, hope of those who despair and most powerful help of Christians, I places all my confidence in you, being sure that you will obtain for me from Jesus the graces which I so much desire, if they are good for my soul. Amen

Novena to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Pray the Novena to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven from August 6th

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

15th of August: Solemnity Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. It’s the most important Marian Feast! Take a look at the dogma!

What is a novena

A novena (nō-ˈvē-nə) is a series of prayers that are said for nine straight days, usually  to obtain a particular request, through the intercession of the Virgin or some saint.

The name comes from latin word novem meaning “nine” or from the medieval latin word novenus meaning “nine by nine”.

But why nine? Well, because the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary spent nine days in prayer between Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Sunday. To be honest, somebody thinks that it comes from the nine months that The Blessed Virgin Mary carried Jesus in her womb.

How to pray the Novena to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

You should pray this novena every day from 6th to the 14th of August but you can pray it for every need you have.

O Immaculate Virgin, mother of God and Mother of humanity, we believe with all the fervour of our faith in your triumphal assumption both in body and in soul into heaven where you are acclaimed as Queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legions of saints; we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted you above all other pure creatures and to offer you the tribute of our devotion and our love.

The Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Mary assumed body and soul into Heaven pray for us

We know that your gaze, which on earth watched over the humble and suffering humanity of Jesus, in heaven is filled with the vision of that humanity glorified and with the vision of uncreated wisdom, and that the joy of your soul in the direct contemplation of the adorable trinity causes your heart to throb with overwhelming tenderness; and we, poor sinners whose body weights down the flight of the soul, beg you to purify our hearts so that, while we remain below, we may learn to see God and God alone in the beauties of his creatures.

The Hail Mary
Mary assumed body and soul into Heaven pray for us

We trust that your merciful eyes may deign to gaze down upon our miseries and anguish, upon our struggles and our weaknesses; that your countenance may smile upon our joys and our victories; that you may hear the voice of Jesus saying to you of each one of us, as he once said to you of his beloved disciple: “Behold you son” and we who call upon you as our Mother, we, like John, take you as the guide, strength and consolation of our mortal life.

The Hail Mary
Mary assumed body and soul into Heaven pray for us

We are inspired by the certainty that your eyes, which wept over the earth crimsoned by the blood of Jesus, are yet turned toward this world racked by wars and persecutions, the oppression of the just and the weak. From the shadows of this vale of tears, we seek in your heavenly assistance, tender mercy, comfort for our aching hearts, and help in the trials of Church and country.

The Hail Mary
Mary assumed body and soul into Heaven pray for us

We believe finally that in the glory where you reign, clothed with the sun and crowned with stars, you are, after Jesus, the joy and gladness of all the angels and the saints, and from this earth, over which we tread as pilgrims, comforted by our faith in the future resurrection, we look to you our life, our sweetness, our hope; draw us onward with the sweetness of your voice, so that one day, after our exile, you may show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

The Hail Mary
Mary assumed body and soul into Heaven pray for us

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.

The Memorare

Needing help? Then pray The Memorare!

You need to know The Memorare, the prayer to The Blessed Virgin Mary, if you are looking for help. Indeed you’re in the right place, because I can help you and show you how to pray it step by step. For this reason, keep on reading!

Why to pray The Memorare

The Memorare to The Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the best known of all the Marian prayers. Most importantly it’s considered one of the most powerful prayers at all.

I guess that you heard that St. Bernard of Clairvaux were the author of this prayer in the XII century, but while you can find some words in his writings, he probably did not compose it.

This opinion spreaded because another Bernard, the poor priest Father Claude Bernard widely spreaded this prayer to Holy Mother in the XVII century: his father taught him indeed but Father Claude Bernard really trusted The Memorare because he got well after a deathly illness where he prayed it.

Moreover, this prayer had appeared for the first time in the  XV century prayer “Ad sanctitatis tuae pedes, dulcissima Virgo Maria”.

The Memorare is a Heaven-Opener to grant graces

People praying the The Memorare got lots of Graces and Miracles, hence the prayer became extremely popular. Furthermore Pope Pius IX indulgenced it by in 1846, in other words praying it grants the forgiveness of sins.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta loved this prayer: she was not only used to often pray it but she he taught it to lot of people and for this reasons, during years, she got news of thousands of Graces.

As a result it is a miraculous and powerful prayer, hence lots call it Heaven-opener: indeed, if you need Mary’s help, pray The Memorare!

How to Pray The Memorare

Pray The Memorare to The Blessed Virgin Mary in the right way with this How-to. I chose the Vatican version of the prayer because I like ancient English: you can read a modern one if you feel more comfortable.

Time needed: 1 minute

How to Pray The Memorare

  1. Make the Sign of The Cross

When you make The Sign Of The Cross, do it well: on the contrary, it would be useless. Hence, read how to make the Sign of The Cross!

  2. Say the words of the Miraculous Medal

Begin saying The words of the Miraculous Medal
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee

  3. Say The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
    that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
    implored thy help,
    or sought thy intercession,
    was left unaided.

    Inspired by this confidence
    I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
    To thee do I come,
    before thee I stand,
    sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
    despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

    Amen

  4. Make the Sign of The Cross

The Memorare in your language

You can pray The Memorare in your language if you feel more comfortable with it: above all you can get most of them on Vatican Site but furthermore, let me put here some!

Latin

The name “Memorare” comes from the first word in the original Latin version and it means “Remember“: the Latin version sounds musical, indeed!

Memoráre,
o piissima Virgo Maria,
non esse auditum a saéculo
quémquam ad tua curréntem praesídia,
tua implorántem auxilla,
tua peténtem suffrágia,
esse derelictum.

Ego, tali animátus confidentia,
ad te, Virgo virginum, Mater,
curro, ad te venio, coram te,
gemens peccátor, adsisto.

Noli, Mater Verbi,
verba mea despicere,
sed audi propitia et exáudi.
Amen

Arabic

It’s very difficult to find an Arabic version of The Memorare. Consider this one too!

Chinese

This is the simplified Chinese version of The Memorare to The Blessed Virgin Mary but you can use the traditional one too.

French

French version sounds great too.

Souvenez-vous, ô très miséricordieuse
Vierge Marie, qu’on n’a jamais entendu dire

me prosterne à vos pieds
.

Ô Mère du Verbe,
ne méprisez pas mes prières, mais accueillez-
les favorablement et daignez les exaucer.
Amen.

German

A strong version, indeed!

Amen.

Hindi

What a fascinating version of The Memorare!

Italian

This version of The Memorare to The Blessed Virgin mary is nice but in Italy you often find this one too.

Amen.

Polish

The Memorare in Polish!

Pomnij, o Najświętsza Panno Maryjo,
że nigdy nie słyszano,
abyś opuściła tego,
kto się do Ciebie ucieka,
Twej pomocy wzywa,
Ciebie o przyczynę prosi.
Tą ufnością ożywiony, do Ciebie,
o Panno nad pannami i Matko,
biegnę, do Ciebie przychodzę,
przed Tobą jako grzesznik płaczący staję.
O Matko Słowa,
racz nie gardzić słowami moimi,
ale usłysz je łaskawie i wysłuchaj.
Amen.

Portuguese

What an happy version!

Lembrai-vos, ó puríssima Virgem Maria,
que nunca se ouviu dizer que algum
daqueles que tenha recorrido à Vossa protecção,
implorado a Vossa assistência e reclamado o Vosso socorro,

me prostro aos Vossos pés.

Não desprezeis as minhas súplicas,
ó Mãe do Filho de Deus humanado,

Russian

it’s difficult to find a Russian version of The Memorare to Holy Mother

Spanish

I like this one too!

Acordaos,
oh piadosísima Virgen María,
que jamás se ha oído decir
que ninguno de los que han acudido
a tu protección,
implorando tu asistencia
y reclamando tu socorro,
haya sido abandonado de ti.

Animado con esta confianza,
a ti también acudo, oh Madre,
Virgen de las vírgenes,
y aunque gimiendo
bajo el peso de mis pecados,
me atrevo a comparecer
ante tu presencia soberana.

No deseches mis humildes súplicas,
oh Madre del Verbo divino,
antes bien, escúchalas
y acógelas benignamente. Amén

The Novena of The Miraculous Medal

Pray this Novena to ask for graces

The Novena of The Miraculous Medal behind the Olympic Gold Medal

Filipino first-ever gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz thanked the Blessed Virgin Mary after her victory, showing her devotion to Our Lady’s Miraculous Medal.

Besides the weightlifter thanked friends for praying the novena of the Miraculous Medal before her competition.

In addition, she said that she prayed the Novena of The Miraculous Medal herself.

You can read my previous post about Hidilyn Diaz here.

But…what is a novena?

A novena (nō-ˈvē-nə) is a series of prayers that are said for nine straight days, usually to obtain a particular request, through the intercession of the Virgin or some saint.
The novena term comes from latin word novem meaning “nine” or from the medieval latin word novenus meaning “nine by nine”.

How to pray the Novena of The Miraculous Medal

The Novena of the Miraculous Medal is also known as Our Lady Of The Miraculous Medal Novena

You should pray this novena every day from 18th to the 26th of November but you can pray it for every need you have.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Immaculate Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, who, moved by mercy for our miseries, came down from Heaven to show us how deeply you care about our sufferings and how much you work to turn away from us God’s punishments and to implore His graces for us, have mercy on us in our present need; console us in our affliction, grant us perpetual good health all the days of our life and grant us the grace we ask from you: mention your petition here.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.

Immaculate Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, who, as the remedy for the many spiritual ills that afflict us, have given us your Miraculous Medal so that it will be a defense of our souls, medicine for our bodies and comfort in all our miseries: we now wear it gratefully over our hearts and we ask you through it to hear our prayer: mention your petition here.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.

Immaculate Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, you promised that you would obtain great graces for the devotees of your Medal who invoke you with the prayer you taught us: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.” Thus, O Mother Mary, see how we, full of trust in your word, come to you and ask you, by your glorious Immaculate Conception and Perpetual Virginity, for the grace we ask: mention your petition here.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.
